The Rise of France’s Far Right Youth | Decade of Hate

How did Generation Identity go from being the most high-profile and influential far-right groups in Europe, to being de-platformed and banned in their country of origin?

Repackaging classic far-right ideas for millennials, Generation Identity consciously eschewed the stereotypical far-right aesthetics and language – binning the bomber jackets and talking about culture instead of race, in an effort to seem more respectable and appealing to potential recruits and the media.

In March 2021, after nine years of controversial and confrontational activism, the French government finally banned the group, whose tactics and ideology was able to spread across Europe and to the US.

How effective will a ban be? Only time will tell. But undoubtedly, Europe’s most influential and high-profile far-right street movement is on a downward spiral.

  1. They have all the right to say how they want their country. Multiculturalism is curse for democries. It's a curse here in india too. Muslims, a minority of sikhs will oppose anything for sake of opposing. Talk separatism whenever they can

  2. I wonder how the conversation would go if millions of liberal westerners migrated to the Middle Eastern countries? Would they be extreme or racist when those migrants asked for human rights, women's rights, gay rights, trans rights, oh and religious rights?

  3. There's nothing wrong with muslims as a population, its islamist politics that is the issue even here in my country Tunisia where we threw the dictator 10 years ago they held office since then and destroyed our economy.

  4. Vice are collaboratos, we just want to preserve our civilisation, you should be ashamed of doing such propaganda, when an islamist will attack you it will be too late

  5. I doubt many of the things said in this video. I doubt GI is as clean as they claim to be, but I don’t believe most of the claims this video makes. With all the lies about trump, it’s easy to straight up lie to an entire audience. There is no denying that western culture is superior, and it should be preserved. I don’t care about anyone’s race.

  6. A lot of people come to Europe and think this is the land of stupid and they can make it their. Freedom and humanity are not stupidity.
Far-left is NOT heroes of liberalism and far-right is NOT bullies, they just want to protect their homeland.
    I’m from Asian but
    EUROPE FOR EUROPEAN.

  7. Decade of hate? So what is Century of hate? 🤨. France will soon not belong to French anymore if they just keep silent.

  8. Why is the hate filled left such a propaganda machine, no difference between liberals and the CCP now days

  9. Replacement migration is not a conspiracy theory. This propaganda piece is so hilariously stupid it beggars belief. It's going to be difficult to persuade people that what is happening right in front of their eyes isn't really happening. Also connecting the desire for a country to keep it's culture, laws, and way of life to white supremacy is vile, and a lie.

  10. It's quite an irresponsible reporting done by VICE. Instead of portraying these people the way they want to be portrayed, i.e. strong and masculine, you should focus on the victims of their violence.

  11. I love the fact "Anti-government" is basically Far-Right. Even if you are black/asian/white. The media will always call you it.

  12. I’m Turkish and our country is majority Muslim. Islam does not encourage radical Islam. Even our women in Turkey and our men are being attacked, but that’s due to refugees and their different culture to ours.

  13. There is a spike of right wingers now days because they're tired of the lefts bullshit and bullying

  14. "You can have a nice haircut have nice clothes" And this guy's a doctor of something? Any respectable group dresses alike. It encourages solidarity. And if it was about race why was there an Asian guy in there? It's about Europe Against One group of people that just want to see the destruction of Europe. And your leaders are tearing our country apart. I wish we still at Donald Trump in office. Ron DeSantis is just a thought.
